About Stanley Guillaume, MD
Dr. Stanley Guillaume is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine at ÈÕ±¾avÉ«ÇéƬ who is dual board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. He specializes in providing comprehensive non-operative musculoskeletal care for acute and chronic conditions such as joint pains, tendinopathies, and fractures as well as treatments for a variety of spinal and neurological conditions, including back pain and nerve injuries. He also serves as one of the head team physicians for New York Rugby Club Women's Premier League team and participates as a physician for St. Johns University athletes in Queens, New York.
Dr. Guillaume received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He then attended Johns Hopkins School of Medicine to earn his medical degree. He concurrently obtained his Master’s in Public Health (MPH) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where he was sponsored by the National Institute of Health (NIH) under the TL1 Trainee Award by the Predoctoral Clinical Research Training Program. He then completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University, McGaw Medical Center/Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly known as the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago), where he won the Sarah Baskin Award for Best Fellow Research. He also completed the Global Health Scholar Curriculum. He then completed his ACGME-accredited fellowship in Sports medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian while also completing Global Health work at Bugando Medical Center in Mwanza, Tanzania to help evaluate and improve musculoskeletal and spine care.
Dr. Guillaume has specialized training in using modern image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic therapies including diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound guided injections and ultrasound guided tendon procedures. He has training in using orthobiologic procedures such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) to help improve pain and restore function. He is also trained in fluoroscopic intervention pain procedures for conditions such as low back pain. Dr. Guillaume’s research interests include injury prevention, physical activity as well as public and global health policy through his passion for global health.
Dr. Guillaume’s goal is to create an individualized treatment plan for each patient staying up to date on the latest evidence-based research findings to educate patients to help them get closer to their goals. Dr. Guillaume speaks English, Haitian Kreyol, and Spanish, and greatly prioritizes patient-physician communication so patients feel as up to date as possible with their care and can feel included with any decision-making.
